Course Goal: To teach the basic Knowledge, Skills, and Attitude necessary for the safe and proper use of a shotgun in defensive shooting.
Overview: You will be taught multiple ways to load your shotgun and to clear malfunctions. You will pattern your shotgun with birdshot, buckshot, and slugs. You will shoot a minimum of 5 slugs, 5 buckshot rounds, and 100 birdshot shells as you practice mounting, follow-through, reloading, shooting and moving, and multiple target engagements. We will discuss NYS laws regarding use of force and what happens after a defensive shooting. This is a local course, not an NRA Shotgun course.
Course Length: 7+ hours, depending on number of students and skill levels.
Prerequisites: Must be 18 years old or older, with some previous shooting experience.
