NRA CCW (Carry a Concealed Weapon) Course

 

 

Course Goal:  To teach the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary to carry a concealed pistol for personal defense.

 

Prerequisites:  The NRA CCW Course offered at TCSA is intended for individuals who have previous shooting experience—already possessing a pistol permit, prior military training, participated in pistol shooting sports, i.e. Bullseye, Action Handgun, IDPA, Cowboy Action shooting, etc. 

 

The course is designed to provide the core competencies required to carry a concealed pistol. This course gives you direct instruction from an NRA-certified instructor from beginning to end and is conducted in a classroom and on a shooting range.  Students will fire at least 120 rounds in both student shooting drills and the NRA CCW Qualification Course of Fire. 

 

Course Length:  This class is a minimum of 8 hours.

 

Topics Include:  Firearms Safety, Basic Defensive Pistol Skills, Safely Drawing from Concealment, Stoppage Remediation, Carry Modes and Pistol Concealment, Defensive Mindset, Responding to an Attack, and the Aftermath of an Attack. 

 

Students should expect to shoot approximately 150 rounds of ammunition.
